Curriculum Overview
Rome
Power, Patronage and the Image. Caravaggio in the churches where his paintings hang, Baroque sculpture at the Galleria Borghese, the Roman Forum, and evening sketchbook sessions.
Orvieto
Craft and the Hill Town. The striped-marble Duomo, the caves and kiln rooms beneath the streets, and a multi-day ceramics workshop in a working studio.
Assisi and Perugia
Narrative, Landscape and the Handmade Book. The Giotto fresco cycle, a morning walk on Mount Subasio, the Umbrian painters in Perugia, and a bookbinding session to close the program.
